About the practice
Dr. Wanda Good
Her practice is built around metabolic disease, acid reflux, and endoscopy, treated as physiology rather than willpower.

The name
Why Ascend Surgical Alliance
Ascend
This work is about lifting people up, not fixing something broken. The goal is to understand the physiology behind your symptoms and give you a path forward.
Surgical
Surgery is part of what I do, but it is not the whole practice. A great deal of the care I provide is endoscopic: procedures done through a scope, with no incision.
Alliance
Alliance means working alongside your primary care team.
My background
My path
I combine empathy, compassion, and a medically comprehensive approach. I treat patients as individuals across the entire course of care, before surgery, during it, and long after, and I keep bringing new technology into the practice as it proves itself.
I am a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and a general surgeon with additional fellowship training in Advanced Robotic, Bariatric and Anti-Reflux Surgery, as well as endoscopic evaluation and bariatric procedures.
Dr. Good has performed nearly 2,000 robotic procedures, and since 2014 has trained other surgeons on the robotic platform as a proctor for Intuitive Surgical.
I speak advanced Spanish.
I currently practice in Denver. I perform metabolic and bariatric surgery at The Center for Bariatric Surgery at AdventHealth Parker. An accredited center of excellence through the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the American College of Surgeons.
I am a member of SAGES, ASMBS, and the American Foregut Society.
I started Ascend Surgical Alliance because I wanted to care for people the way I would want my own family cared for: with a full explanation of what is happening, a clear sense of the options, and no judgment. I believe metabolic disease is physiology, not willpower. The number on the scale is not the goal. The goal is to treat the cause.
Reflux care matters to me as much as metabolic care. I evaluate each patient for both, because the right treatment depends on the full picture.
Our process
How we work
Evaluation first
Before we talk about any treatment, we do a thorough evaluation. That includes your history, your symptoms, and the right testing to find the cause.
You decide
I explain the options in plain language. You choose the path that fits your goals. No pressure, no one-size-fits-all plan.
Your provider stays informed
If you were referred, I send your primary care team my findings and recommendations. They stay your medical home. I am a partner in the care, not a replacement. I join the care team for a defined period.

The first step is a conversation. Tell us what is going on and we will help you find the cause.
