Privacy Policy
What this website collects, how your submissions are handled, and how we measure visits.
What this policy covers
This policy covers this website only. It explains what the site collects, how a message you send reaches us, and what happens to it. It is not a Notice of Privacy Practices. That is a separate document about your medical record, and it is provided by the practice directly.
What we collect
We collect what you type into a form and choose to send. Depending on the form, that can include your name, email address, phone number, the service you are asking about, the date of birth needed to verify benefits, insurance card images you choose to attach, and whatever you write in a message field.
We also measure how the site is used, in aggregate, with Google Analytics. That is explained below under How we measure visits.
Our forms and the endoscopy question assistant ask you not to include medical details, test results, or health history. We collect clinical information by phone or in the office, not through this website.
Browsing this site does not require an account, and we do not ask you to create one.
How your submission is handled
The website itself does not keep a copy of what you send. There is no database of submissions behind this site. Each submission goes to systems the practice controls.
Contact form messages are filed in the practice's Google Workspace account and emailed to the practice inbox that handles that kind of request, using an email delivery service.
Benefits verification requests, including any insurance card images, are filed directly in the practice's Google Workspace account and are not sent by email. The practice receives a notice that a request arrived, with no patient details in it. If the filing cannot be completed, the request is not accepted, so nothing falls back to email.
To keep the forms from being abused, the site holds your IP address in memory for a short time to limit repeated submissions. It is not written to any log or database. The site's logs record only the time, the type of form, and whether it went through, with no names, message content, or attachments.
Email is convenient but it is not a secure channel. Please do not put anything in the contact form that you would not want traveling by ordinary email.
Endoscopy question assistant
The endoscopy page has an assistant that answers general questions in plain language. When you ask a question, the text of the conversation is sent to an AI service to generate the answer.
The website does not save the conversation, and it is gone when you leave or refresh the page. Please do not type your name, contact details, or anything about your own health into it. It is educational only and cannot diagnose a condition or recommend treatment.
How we measure visits
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read, so we know what information is useful to patients. It records the page address and title along with general details your browser shares, such as device type and approximate region, and it uses cookies to tell new visits from returning ones.
We have set it up to collect as little as possible. Page addresses are sent without the search terms or other details that can appear at the end of a web address, and nothing you type into a form or the assistant is sent to Google Analytics. Google signals and advertising personalization are turned off.
We do not use advertising pixels, session replay, or heatmaps, and we do not sell or share your information for advertising.
You can block Google Analytics with Google's opt-out browser add-on or most content blockers, and the site works the same either way.
Service providers
The site relies on a few service providers to work: its hosting platform, an email delivery service, Google Workspace for filing submissions, an AI service for the endoscopy assistant, and Google Analytics. Each one receives only what it needs to do its part.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when the way the site handles information changes. The version posted here is the version in effect.
