Paying for Care

There are a few ways people pay for care here. None of them should involve guesswork. Whichever path applies to you, ask for the terms in writing before you schedule.

The paths available

Most care falls into one of three categories. Which one applies depends on the procedure and on your plan.

  • Coverage review, where your plan is asked to authorize the care
  • Self-pay, where the practice quotes a price directly
  • Third-party financing, arranged between you and a lender

How self-pay quoting works

A self-pay quote is prepared after a short conversation about your history and what testing you have already completed. It is provided in writing and it states what is included.

Ask specifically what happens if something changes on the day of the procedure, and how long the quote stays valid.

Pre-tax accounts

Health savings and flexible spending accounts are commonly used for elective care. Eligibility rules come from your account administrator, not from this office.

If you plan to use one, confirm eligibility before scheduling so the timing works.

Third-party financing

Financing is an agreement between you and the lender. The practice does not set the terms, the rate, or the approval decision.

Read the terms carefully, especially what happens at the end of any promotional period. A payment plan should reduce stress rather than add a second problem.

What to confirm before you schedule

A short checklist protects you regardless of which path you take.

This page explains how cost is built, not what your cost will be. No figures are published here. A written quote for your situation comes from the office.

  • Get the quote or the authorization in writing
  • Confirm what is included and what is billed separately
  • Confirm the refund and rescheduling policy
  • Confirm how long the quote is valid
  • Confirm who to call if a bill arrives that you did not expect

Common questions

Do you publish prices?
No. Prices depend on what you actually need, so they are quoted in writing rather than posted.
Can I use an HSA or FSA?
Often, yes. Confirm eligibility with your account administrator before scheduling.
Is financing arranged through the practice?
Financing agreements are between you and the lender. The practice does not set terms or approve applications.
